Happy Thanksgiving

Hi All, Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate.

I did a few candles, one for my secret elf and one to try out my new whippersnapper stamp "fall kitty". I wasn't sure how it would turn out on a Warm Gingerbread Candle.. which by the way, doesn't smell like gingerbread much.. maybe once its lit.. but not too bad.

Thanks for checking them out and if your interested in trying the tech, you can find it in the resources area of splitcoaststampers.

November Wish RAK Entries

Hi All,

Well I am back from Kingman, Arizona and am happy to say that I loved the house and we signed the papers, now its just a matter of closing (close date of Dec 22). It's in Golden Valley, about 16 miles from my sister home and 8 mile from the hospital I hope to get a job at. The house is a 4 bed 2 bath on 1.35 acres with an 2 car garage and a workshop that we plan to turn into a sew/bird/guest room.

Anyways, back to what I did since my last post... alot. However I won't be posting it all today. I finished some stuff for my secret santa and elf (candles, cards and pot holders) Worked on the blogger challenge and finished the November Wish Rack Challenges.

The first Challenge is called Girls Kiss your Boys. We had to use 4 stampin up cardstock colors :Bravo Burgundy, Always Aritchoke, Not quite navy, and More mustard.

The Second is called Emboss it. We were to do some type of embossing. I used heat emboss and the Cuttlebug Emboss for this Congrat/Celebration Card.

The last challenge is a sketch. What can I say about that. Here it is.

Thanks for checking out my blog and showin love.

Off topic - but have to share

One last blog for today. Its off the topic of stamping but I am excited and wanted to share.

Today, My father and I put in a bid on a house. Unfortunately, there are 2 other bidders, but I am hopeful that our bid will be accepted. No matter what ends up happening, I know it was the right thing to happen. As they say, if it was meant to be it will be. If not, then it means that the house wasn't the right house for our family.

Thanks for letting me share.
Ugggg the wait to hear back!!!!

Stamp Library - Again.. this time with pictures.

I finished my library cards today and so took some pictures and thought I would share how they look. I haven't been creating cards today, but I have been granting wishes for the wish rack. By Friday I plan to send out 48 wishes.

I think the next time I send out wishes I will be checking for my blog sisters names on the list and seeing if I can fulfill their wishes as well.

OK, back to the topic of this post.... Here are the pics with a little description.

This first picture is of the clear acrylic frame with stamps.
If you look carefully you can see my messy desk behind the acrylic frame...hehe.. OK actually to show you the stamped images and the acrylic frame with stamps separately. If you can't tell what the stamp is, you just peel it off and can see the image behind it.

This next picture is of my entire library. The frames and my stamp books. Sort of like a card catalog. The stampin up sets are alphabetically organized. Having them this way makes it really easy to flip through to find something. So for one of the wishes, they wanted snowmen images, so I know I have some stampin up sets that have snowmen and I was pretty sure there were some clear stamps. So I just checked my stampin up and frames booklets and found 5 images.

Here is a close up view of one of my booklets, for these I combined some images into categories and added tabs. For that wish I went to my xmas tab and checked there for snowmen... but didn't have any that weren't in frames and stampin up.

Hanna Stamps Monthly Release Party Challenge Cards

I entered the Hanna Stamps monthly release parties Card challenge. It was a sketch challenge (can you tell what it was?). I made 3 cards. My 18 year old daughter, Courtney, picked the one to enter. I didn't win, but that's OK, I still got to make some great cards.

Which one would you have told me to enter? Leave a comment and on the 16th I will put every one's name in a hat and have my daughter pull a name. The person she pulls will get all 3 cards.

This is the one my daughter picked, we will call it #1

I actually WON something!!

Hi All,

Just thought I would SHOUT it out to all of you. I won!!!! I took part in the Unity Hip Hop Thursdays on Oct 30. I have to tell you that I was a bit confused but people were nice to help point me in the direction and actually ended up winning the "big prize".

Here is what the email said.. it came today.

Unity Stamp Company/Store More Stamps
Hi Karen!Happy Monday! I finally FOUND you. Just wanted to let you know what you were the BIG WINNER of the Store More Stamps kit for leaving a comment on the Unity Stamp Blog - Here is the link if you would like to check it out - http://theunitystampco.blogspot.com/2008/10/happy.html

So check out the link about 1/2 way down the page to see MY name in lights.

Whats so funny is that I won a store more stamps storage kit as well as the stamp set from unity called simple pleasures. But what's so funny is that, as you all know from the other day's blog, I just finished organizing my clear and cling stamps...hehe But I will need some storage for that new stamp set so there I go.

Stamp Library

So I am not sure how many stamps I have but I know that I have no idea "for sure" what I do have.

I decided to do a library so I could more easily see what I have instead of going through drawers.

I have been stamping each of my stamps on an index card and when I am done I will organize them by theme and or brand (Stampin up will have their own category). This way when I need something like an butterfly, I can look in my insect section and the card catalog will actually tell me what drawer that stamp is in. Its taking some time to do this but I think in the long run it will save me 3x as much.

I am currently working on my clear stamps. I am using an idea I got from SCS, unfortunately I don't recall who or where, but you take a inexpensive acrylic picture frame that looks like a "L", you stamp your image on a sheet of paper and insert it as if it was the picture then take your clear and cling back stamps and put them on top of the image. They sit nestled on your desk so you can get to them easily.

I now have over 400 index cards and some of them have multiple images. I can't believe this.

Hence the reason I haven't been making many cards. I have 4 planed and I am dying to start, but until my library is done.. NOPE gonna wait.

So hopefully this wasn't too boring without a pretty card attached, next blog for sure.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day.

SCS Blogger #3 Group

Earlier today the blogging group I belong to on Splitcoaststampers.com achieved the 25 stamping/scrapping bloggers to fill the group. We are now full. Woo Hoo. I have all 24 of my fellow sister bloggers listed so check out their blog's if you get a chance. My next step is to visit each one and check out exactly the interesting stuff they have going on and if I can , I will comment on one or two.. maybe more ;)

I would like to thank all my blog sisters for all the wonderful comments you have already left, its really nice to hear that you like my work, if you can call it work.

What's next for the group? Well I suggested we do a weekly challenge and the blogger who wins get all the cards made that week, doesn't that sound like a winner. Not sure if this will fly but sounded like fun.

So a quick Shout out to my bloggin sisters! Go SCS Bloggers #3!!!

Stampin Up Card Swap

There is an upcoming Card Swap for any Stampin Up Set, I believe there is still room if anyone is interested. Anyways, this is my submission. Its the Totally Cool Stamp Set and even though you can't tell very well by the picture, I put a bit of bling bling on the gift bag. I tried something new with the horizontal blades of CS that I used with the Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder. I also used a fiskar border punch for the slits to thread the ribbon through.

By the way, the sentiment is SOOOOOOOOO me!!!

Not near as nice in the picture as in real life.

Swaps Galore

I hope everyone had a great halloween. The first day of November and its raining here in Newark California. Perfect day for stamping.

Over the last few days I have created for 2 card swaps and 2 image swaps. I have another 4 or 5 card and image swaps still to go. The first card swap was for a Stampin Up Christmas. We were to use a Stampin Up Christmas Set to create a card. Second is for a That's so Punny Card swap.

I am sure you will be able to tell the difference. At least I hope so.
